Many of you will be familiar with the quarterly football magazine The Blizzard, they also have a podcast where articles are narrated. I listened to one tonight and thought there were a number of parallels with events at our club. For one thing it really made me realise that #together is a load of rubbish.
Here is a short extract, I highly recommend you have a listen if you enjoy podcasts and don't like lots of aspects of modern football.
About PSG:
"Ticket prices were ramped up and the ownership admitted that it was implementing a strategy of ‘fan gentrification’ whereby it was trying to attract wealthier fans. As one club spokesman put it, the club was attempting to replace hard-core supporters with ‘fan customers.’
Trying to separate football clubs from their histories is wrong. We cannot sanitise football clubs, removing them from the meanings that their communities have invested in them, before branding them as ‘global products’ to be sold via merchandise."
