As has been pointed out in previous threads this is it.common when Chistmas falls early in the week. Or to be more precise if there was a Saturday between Boxing Day and New Years day with a clear day either side of it. Also in the 70s it was the norm at Easter.

Five hours of football in a 168 hour week. Seems OK to me - always been like that (or worse) this time of the year,. Used to play on Christmas day, with the return fixture on Boxing day, ffs.

maybe now you've just witnessed that 45 minutes you will feel differently......we are fuct....to a man.

Last 45 minutes nothing to do with it. Seven first teamers out injured is much more significant.

Occasionally playing three games a week is of no significance; strangely, 23 other teams in this division have to do it too..

we are the only team playing today that played on tuesday, .....the team look bolloxed ....boro and derby both have depth of squad to have a rotation policy......calderon 33 , greer 34 , bruno 35 , zamora 35 .....three losses on the trott ...wouldn't score in a brothel....kenny jackett's pre match talk..." right ho boys , these blokes can't score so we'll just put 9 behind the ball from the start , let them knock it about and then sucker 'em on the break, job done.....off ya go lads.."

Only common in Uk. Other big leagues have a mid-season break.
