Liam Ridgewell won't mind going straight in at the deep end with Albion.
And he could just help the Seagulls get back on a promotion roll after five matches without a win.
Here are five things about Albion's latest signing.
1. Ridgewell has a designer swim shorts brand, called Thomas Royall, alongside close friend Sam Saunders of Brentford. Saunders was a late substitute against Albion at Griffin Park on Saturday.
2. He has a goal celebration named in his honour in the MLS. The 'Ridgeyroll' was inspired by brother Clark's Sunday League team.
3. The father-of-two has a seven-year-old daughter, Eva, and son Luca, who was ten on Sunday.
4. Ridgewell earns around £15,000 a week with Portland Timber as one of the club's designated players. The MLS has a system of salary transparency, with figures available to view online.
5. He made his Premier League debut 12 years ago as a second half substitute for Aston Villa in a 3-0 home win against Fulham. The Villa line-up included Gareth Barry.
