Parking Permit Question

Just wondered if anyone can help with this.

Buying a car and live in Zone R (no waiting list).
Have applied for a permit today, will take a week or so to come through.

Where do I park the car until the permit comes through?

Probably no help as its a different town, but in T Wells, once you've paid for the permit and it's processing, they issue you a temporary one valid for a couple of weeks until the real one comes through. No reason why Brighton shouldn't do something similar. Maybe their website can help ?

Is that genuinely my only option?

No long term pay & display tickets I can buy (if there's such thing)?

This is exactly what I was hoping for, but can't find anything like that on the Brighton site unfortunately.

Buy residents visitor permits in the meantime & park on street.

If you buy permit in parking shop you get it instantly

There are some longer term p&d for 8 hours, normally at 1 end of each - but these are rare & well used
