It's a confidence game, this.

The players looked a bit hesitant to play the ball early in the final third last night. Earlier on this season, they were doing this without a second thought - our 4-2-4 system was surprising teams.

the 451 employed in the first half made it hard to find space, and the wingers kept on coming in to find the ball - with no overlaps happening. People were moving out of position in order to get the ball, not trusting the ball would get to them. As a result the ball was not being pinged on quick enough.

A break is needed, and a few players back from injury / bought in, and I'd think the confidence will come back.
