ALBION boss Chris Hughton has called on his players to start winning away from home again to stop losing ground in the promotion race.
The Seagulls, still unbeaten on the road in the Championship, head for Brentford on Boxing Day after five draws on the trot at Reading, Sheffield Wednesday, Burnley, Derby and QPR.

The away run since winning at Leeds in mid-October has cost third-placed Albion a lot of ground in the fight at the top of the table.
Leaders Middlesbrough have collected 12 away points over the same period, Derby ten, Hull seven, Burnley six and Ipswich in sixth spot 13. Only Sheffield Wednesday, in seventh place, have also accumulated five points.
Hughton told The Argus: “Out of those five draws away from home we would have been better winning three and losing two. We’re conscious of that.
“There isn’t a game that we don’t try to win away from home. At Queens Park Rangers we would very much have settled for 2-2 because of the circumstances (down to ten men) but still in every game we play in a drawing position we are trying to win which ever way we can.
“It would be nice to start picking up a few wins away from home.”
Hughton believes the performance was not as bad as it felt initially in the 3-0 defeat by Boro at the Amex on Saturday which wrecked Albion’s unbeaten League record.
He said: “The players are okay. When you evaluate the game and you look at things we did wrong, overall the general performance wasn’t as bad as you think after the game.
“We weren’t well off the pace. We weren’t at our best, there’s no doubt about that. The difference was at both ends.
“We have to have some sort of reality on the performance.
“We’ve always said if we drop our level we can be beaten and that was on Saturday.
“Mentally we are very focused and I hope even more desperate now to get back to winning ways.”
