Is it his original jumper?, was it not given to him by the people on the boat that fished him out, so just an old holey jumper.

He got shot. The books are better, of the 12 I would say that 7 of them are absolute steamers with a couple of hopelessly tosh efforts for good measure.

My washing machine seems to make holes in my stuff. Perhaps he did the classic hangover error of lobbing a jumper in the wash

No because they dragged him out of the water wearing a wetsuit.
Bourne was cut from that, nudie.
Then appears in a jumper, grungy enough to be a fishermans, but with identical 'bullet' holes in.
Does ITV2 show anything other than the Bourne trilogy?
T'is the only thing I watch on that channel.
