Albion boss Chris Hughton admits his side must stop conceding goals from corners.
But he has praised the response from fans at the Amex to yesterday's first Championship defeat of the season by leaders Middlesbrough.
The second and third goals in Boro's 3-0 win were headers via corners, a method by which Derby and QPR also scored in the Seagulls' previous two games.
Hughton told The Argus: "It's a big worry, something we need to eradicate. What we are up against is very good delivery and that's what happens when you play top teams, they've got players who can put the ball generally where they want to put it.
"But we didn't defend it well enough. That is a worry but overall it's very difficult to be too harsh on the players and the response of the supporters at the end was excellent."
Although there were lots of empty seats by the final whistle, thousands of supporters stayed behind to applaud Hughton's team off.
He said: "They knew it had been a tough day for us. They knew generally what they've seen this season they've liked and this has to be a springboard now to go again.
"We need to wrap up a few, because Uwe (Huenemeier) has gone off injured as well, so we have certainly got a few on that injury list. We need to wrap them up and look forward to a tough game at Brentford."
Huenemeier, centre-half replacement for the suspended Lewis Dunk, went off in the second half with suspected groin trouble. Dunk is available again for the game at Brentford on Boxing Day.
