Brighton have dropped 12 points from winning positions

Thunder Bolt

Silly old bat
Only Charlton (13) have dropped more.

Discuss.

Brighton have only been behind in 21 games for a total of 140 minutes, and came back to win.
In 11 away games we haven't been behind at all.
21 games unbeaten from the start, which is a Championship record.

A better scenario to discuss perhaps, or are you a Palace fan?

It happens to all teams. Slightly worrying but going a goal up doesn't give you automatic right to 3 points or mean the game is over. Our stats on scoring first are more startling IMO and obviously a more positive stat :)

One surprising stat - given how prolific we've been in taking the lead this season - is that if all games had ended after the first goal scored then we'd only be on 48 points, so only 5 more than we actually have.

It is a relevant stat. We'll have our own genuinely held views as to whether all is still good. or whether our position and unbeaten run mask missed opportunities to be well clear.

You have to be a bit careful with this kind of thing, because it is easy to remember only the points you dropped and conveniently forget the ones you picked up with any late winners.

But I always feel with football it is about maximising opportunities that are presented. And for that reason I think that in the season to date, even taking into account the above, we probably should have had 5-7 more points than we have (four just in the last four days, if we're honest).

Is that going to cost us, whether an automatic spot, play-off spot? You'd have to say it's possible in a tight division with other good teams at the top.

It sounds greedy and ungrateful to be at the top and unbeaten and be saying this, but I bet anything that there is a bit of Chris Hughton that is annoyed Brighton aren't well clear given the way the matches, and the season to date have gone.

Beat Boro though and it will still have been a decent week, arguably our toughest, with five pts from the three difficult games. Boro is a huge game, really looking forward to it, we could really do with putting down a marker, and what a day it would be to actually win a match by two goals.

I predicted a draw at Derby and QPR and a win at home to Middlesbro so still on track. According to the old formula that if you win at home and draw away you will win the league we are 2 points up. 10 home games =30 points plus 11 away = 11 points total 41 and we have 43. So all is well

WTF is wrong with everyone we have just drawn away from home against arguably two of the best sides in the league, reading some of the post match posts you would of thought Hypia was back with COG upfront and Gary Gardner has just signed a 3 year deal.

QPR fans ALL think that's the best they've played by a mile this season. They also have the best centre forward in this division by a distance who should be playing a division up. And they still didn't beat us (although it was close). Good point because this Rangers team could do some real damage with JFH in charge.

Won't do any kind of damage when Austin leaves next month. He will want a shot at the euro squad.
