Whatever the current record is the new one will be set by Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club season 2015-16

I think maybe West Ham, 22 games or so, but that might not have been from the start (which you didn't specify). Do a search, there have been threads.

West Ham, unbeaten for 21 games in 1990.

Chris Hughton was part of that Hammers team. Signed from Tottenham for a season. The unbeaten run went on Saturday 22nd December 1990 but West Ham were promoted as runners-up, behind Oldham.

So no one, bar Liverpool in the 19th century, has ever gone half a season unbeaten in the 2nd flight. Surely we can be the first...

The record for an unbeaten run in a single season (not necessarily from the start) in this division is 33 games by Reading in 2005-06. The overall record is 38 games by Arsenal in the Premier League (the invincibles). League 1 Huddersfield went 43 games unbeaten spread over two seasons (2010-12) and had a play-off defeat sandwiched between them. The top division record is 49 games by Arsenal spread over three seasons (2002-05).

Have a feeling the Reading run started with a victory, or after a defeat, against Albion.
