Albion stayed top of the Championship with a 2-2 draw at Derby – but they should have won.
The Seagulls twice let slip leads, the second of them on 88 minutes as Chris Martin converted a penalty.
It was unclear what the spot kick was awarded for in a packed penalty area.
James Wilson, a player Derby tried to sign on loan last season, guided Albion into a 22nd-minute lead with an expert near-post finish from Jamie Murphy’s cross.
But ex-Albion loanee Bradley Johnson rose majestically at the far post to head the 41st-minute leveller from a corner.

Solly March is stretchered off
Raj van La Parra restored the advantage with a sizzling angled finish to round off a counter attack on 75 minutes.

Albion were compact at the back and did not look in*danger until a poor back pass by Rohan Ince put them in trouble.Despite Lewis Dunk’s goal-saving challenge, Rams were awarded their spot kick from the resulting corner as Johnny Russell went down.
The result was ultimately disappointing for the Seagulls but of more concern was the sight of Solly March being stretchered off with what a looked a serious knee injury.
The winger twice went down in agony while running on his own and was replaced by van La Parra.
