Hello! Sorry for rushed post

I fly to Canada today and plan to use my laptop. Have charger with me but just learnt power socket on board are 110v which must be US style plugs

Therefore if I quickly buy a UK/US adaptor from a shop here is it safe to use on board with my laptop? I don't want to start a fire on board if the thing blows up

Cheers all

I'd put it in you're back pack as If you carry it you might not get enough lift with just one arm?

Poor.

I say "on board" later in the post which clearly implies an aircraft is involved

Get the adapter, it'll be fine if your laptop is in any way recent. The charger likely accepts 85-250v.

Onboard power is usually 110v even if they have UK plugs.

This. Often use mine on flights with a standard UK to US adapter
