Albion are set to plot their way through a hat-trick of tests with Bobby Zamora.
Boss Chris Hughton is keen to exploit Zamora’s vintage spell of form for the Championship leaders at third-placed Derby today, away to the veteran striker’s old club QPR on Tuesday and at home to second-placed Middlesbrough next Saturday.
But Hughton is also guarding against over-exerting Zamora, 35 last month, so that he is not added to an already lengthy injury list of first team regulars.
A pattern of substitute appearances and curtailed starts changed against Charlton last Saturday as Zamora scored for the third game running and lasted 90 minutes to help Albion preserve their undefeated record from 2-0 down with a 3-2 victory at the Amex. Hughton told The Argus: “We have tried to manage Bobby the best way we can, whether that is starting, playing 90 minutes as he did on Saturday or coming off the bench.
“When you have got a lot of games you have got to try and manage him that little bit better. Up until now it’s worked in our favour.

“He has given us a lot, goals which have been invaluable, but at the moment we have decent options.”Zamora has scored five goals in his last eight outings since rejoining the club in the summer after a 12-year absence.
Hughton said: “Last season he was available for a lot of games at Queens Park Rangers in the top division, so our expectations were that he would contribute and contribute well.
“But certainly the goals he has scored are typical quality striker goals, being in the right place at the right time.”

Zamora will be trying to score against Derby for the third time in succession with three different clubs today.
He was on target for West Ham in a Premier League fixture in 2007-08 and struck QPR’s last-gasp winner as a substitute in the Championship play-off final against the East Midlands outfit at Wembley two seasons ago (pictured above).
