Derby County's Message Board - There's No-one There?

For such a big club – with crowds at the Ipro currently the Championship's highest, it's surprising that Derby's main message board seems so underpopulated most of the time.

With NSC showing around 1045 currently online, dcfcfans.uk records just 173. Maybe Derby's simply a more exciting place than Brighton on a Friday night? Or perhaps there's less of a football messageboard culture up there?

Still surprising, nonetheless. Any other explanations?

Maybe they're all out having a good time on a Friday night rather than looking at other teams message boards?

Went out with a girl from Derby for a few years.
Struggling to recall anything 'exciting' about the place in any way shape or form!
Depressing northern town playing second fiddle to Nottingham!

A thread on there about how to beat Brighton. I don't think they know much about us. If they want to know, they just need to look at the highlights of the first half of the Charlton game.

Guess what? Message boards for supporters aren't the be all and end all. Shock! Horror!

I don't think we will fall for that again. Reckon we slightly underestimated Charlton and just went all out attack attack attack from the start and got caught twice on lightening fast breaks. Won't happen again.

Perhaps they've got more than one message board, and you're looking at the equivalent of Brighton Fans?

With currently 12 users online? Probably not. But dcfcfans.com is now up to 164. NSC has 1205.

There are reasons some forums prosper and others dont. Or to be blunt, a lot of messageboards were killed of by social media so why did NSC the palace BB and a few others dodge the evolutionary bullet?

There are quite a few reasons boards carry on beyond the weight of numbers.

They are a hub for topic related info/they work with experts/ insiders which creates a virtues circle.

They have posters that are a draw and conversely avoid clannish wars.(this would be bozza and all his mates fueding with El pres and all his mates.)

They avoid to many things that kill forums, good facebook pages/"spliters", shout boxes and protected trolls.

They get a reputation among clients, in this case fans etc, this can be good or bad or both.

There are a few more.

Apparently 'we have no obvious qualities or weaknesses' and 'nothing special'

And...

'Without being too harsh too, Brighton being top and undefeated just shows how awful this Championship is in terms of quality. They're doing excellent and all credit to them, but if 20 teams cannot beat them... Says something about how bad the division is. Someone like Norwich or Bournemouth would batter them.'

It'll all unravel when we play a decent team, obviously
