Am rubbish at electrics etc. Kitchen light keeps going out. Is it a bulb or the fitting to change? How do you do it without snapping anything? Sorry for being dumb.

Have you tried turning it off and back on...?

Leeds - but not the dirty bit
Apply gentle pressure upwards to the bulb and twist anti clockwise. (probably / possibly depending on bulb type, that looks like it could be a GU10) to remove bulb and investigate from there

Looks like an old flourescent replacement for a GU10 bulb - it should twist out as GOM describes. Replace with a decent LED GU10 - IKEA do very good ones but if you don't want to go that close to Croydon for one lightbulb, Philips Master would be the next best. Look for a 400 lumens or similar/higher output.

The most curious thing..
1 - get ladder
2 - climb ladder
3 - reach for bulb
4 - fall off ladder
5 - ring electrician.
