Murphy has played pretty well of late. He has scored a few and made a few. One bad game against Charlton and you want to replace him with a loan player who has played about 15 mins for us. Very harsh.

Completely depends on who is fit but I think given the choice CH will go for a more combative midfield with Murphy dropping to bench and Crofts/Ince coming in but guess they not fit so team probably picks itself. I think he will continue with Dunk.

Not suggesting he has played poorly. Just think VLP has more pace, which is something Derby would have to worry about on the counter attack along with Wilson and prevent them from pushing as many players forward.

Of all the months to not have Rosenior available, now is very much the worst case scenario.

Irrespective as the where he'd play, I'd feel so much happier if he were on the pitch.

Whoever plays LM will need to be under strict instructions to help Calderon out. Otherwise I can see us being raped badly down the left.

Agree. VLP needs more minutes on the pitch before we can judge him. Start with Murphy.

I doubt very much if CH will go with 2 wingers at Derby. March on left. I would go with Chickson at LB Calderon right mid field. He covers far more ground then Croft,Ince etc and can cover for Bruno when he gets forward. This was successful in later part of last season and I believe one away game this season.

If Crofts is fit I think he will play him and leave a wide man out.... be interesting to see what CH does.

That's exactly how I would go. 4-4-2 all out attack isn't the way to go away to Derby. We barely survived it at home to Charlton. Use Chicksen's greater pace at LB and get Calde to tighten up midfield, with perhaps a cheeky 89th minute winner off His Saintly Beard.

Can't see Kayal being in the right state of mind for this game thanks to Houmousgate so I'm going for Ince to partner Stephens.

Really? He hasn't exactly had a mare in any game he has played. He just hasn't played in that many. Obvious that he is not rated long term but if you are not going to play your last remaining specialist left back as a left back at any point you should have binned him off in the summer and freed up the wages.

Here's one from left field though (I don't think this will happen but bear with me). Towards the end on Saturday March was playing left back. Could we interchange him and Calde? That would certainly keep Derby guessing and adjusting.

If Crofts was fit I would sacrifice a winger (Murphy) to give us a more combative midfield.
I could make a case for JFC on the same basis (he was on top form on loan at MKD after all).
The alternative of using VLP's pace to stop their fullback getting forward is a good option.
Just depends how Chris feels more comfortable and how he thinks Derby will respond to seeing Charlton rip our defence a new one :lolol: You would normally expect them to adopt a fairly measured approach but if they go for the jugular from the outset then Van La Parra's pace ahead of Murphy could be a useful weapon.

I would replace Dunk with Hunemeier but I think CH will give him one last chance. He was all at sea on Saturday but a backs to the wall defensive game at Derby is tailor made for his skill set as he has less opportunity to go forward and (inevitably) be caught out of position.
