Did anyone else see the puppy dog eyes on Elvis Manu when Nathan Jones signalled for our second substitution yesterday?
Both Manu and van La Parra were warming up close to the North Stand, Manu heard the call, looked up, then point to himself followed by vLP to figure who Nathan wanted. Manu then realised it was vLP that would come on. He looked like a bully had taken his favourite toy, and was too proud to go back to the bench. I felt so sorry for the lad.
vLP then came on to make a decisive assist, an amazing moment. However, what does this mean for Manu? Unlike the free disaster that was Toko, Manu cost £1.5 million in the summer, a lot of money by our standard. Yet he is never given a chance.
Hughton must not rate this guy at all. Huge shame if we get nothing out of this guy considering his cost, and Dutch pedigree.
