The lost art of the dribble

I have long lamented the disappearance of the old school art of dribbling. The kind that you needed to succeed when playing 'Wembley' in the playground.

And then along comes James Wilson with that goal today...dancing around outstretched legs, turning this way and that.

There are the 'ghost pasters' like my beloved Vicente or the snake hip stuff of yer Solly granted.

But my mind drifts back quite a way to find something fairly similar....Steve Penney perhaps?

Anyway, amid all the euphoria ( and it was magic) this is what I have most taken away from the AMEX today....

Possibly that, or we thought it looked like U13s - the very skilful kid ahead of his time not passing because he knew he could beat everyone and score. Brilliant !

I had a little dribble myself when that goal went in.
