No they didn't. He was reasonable for us.

Billy Paynter was the shit one in that era.

Agreed. Weighed in with a couple of goals, bustled putting himself about, but that's about it. But as loan strikers go, he was one of the better ones and certainly wasn't "shit"!

Crikey, l must have taken my eyes off the action, it doesn't seem more than five minutes ago, (ok maybe ten), that he was happily plundering goals for Burnley, although l know he has been at Stoke since then.

How the once might have fallen though.
