I'm just south of Le Mans could have driven down and back in about 16 hours..

In many respects some of the 70's bands improve as technology improves the sounds

Was it a pour out the classics sort of night, what tracks did the French got mad for

Le Mans! that's a shame because they played Rennes & Caen at the weekend

lot's of oldies which suited me

Toiler (opener)
Straighten Out
Grip
No More Heroes
Curfew
Nice n' Sleazy
Tank
Duchess
Midnight Summer Dream

to name a few

as for the french public,Always The Sun is the most well known aswell as Golden Brown and MSD all of which got great receptions
also All Day & All Of The Night was very well recieved as an encore, but I think they gave No More Heroes the biggest cheer of the night, which surprised me a little

yeah,they sure did

was expecting to hear La Folie as I heard it was played earlier on in the french tour, but no
neither 5 Minutes,Hanging Around,Sewer,WOB or Genetix,but they can't play them all

Skin Deep was absolutely nailed, played a bit quicker live, worked brilliantly

I think they're playing Bristol next March

How many of the original line up an how old is Jet Black now?

JJ & Dave Greenfield

Baz Warne now plays guitar,he's no Hugh Cornwell, but he's a good fit

Jet Black is only 77!

he's not been well for a while, makes the odd guest appearence back in the UK

Probably to spare us the annual...

"Is anyone going to see The Stranglers at the Brighton Centre ?"

"The Stranglers were AMAZING last night - they've still got it 8.8"

...cycle.

It wasn't meant in spite at all - just a bit of fun, as that is my recollection of what happens when they play.

Try checking out The Cat Empire. I've seen them a fair few times (and, like you, I always rave afterwards how good they are). Their last UK show was at The Royal Albert Hall but they have just announced their first Brighton gig - at Concorde 2 - for early next year.

when I first heard of it I immediately checked the Brighton fixtures to tie up a double header only to realise Brighton wasn't on the calendar
