Albion*boss Chris Hughton has applauded the character of his record-breakers.
The Seagulls are 17 games unbeaten in the Championship since the final game of last season following Saturday's 2-1 home win over MK Dons.
That eclipses the 16-match undefeated league run of the 1930-31 side in Division Three South.
All nine of the victories in the sequence have been by a single goal.

Hughton said: "We haven't swept other teams away and won games very comfortably. We've had to work very hard for every result we've got and that shows a real lot of character in the team.
"It is a proud achievement and the manner in which we have done it makes them even more proud as a team."
Hughton says the record will be forgotten when Albion, second behind Hull on goal difference, return to action after the international break at third-placed Burnley on November 22 (1.15pm).
He told The Argus: "It's about trying to win the next game, not prolonging a record but trying to beat one of the better teams in this division."
Sam Baldock went off early in the second half against one of his former clubs with a left thigh injury. Hughton said: "We'll see how he is over the next couple of days. We hope it's not too bad."
