Isn't a corner a sort of courtesy thing, where you're just supposed to pass it to one of the defenders standing on the edge of the six yard box?

I thought that our corners today were a vast improvement on the last few weeks - apart from the cocked-up short job in the first half. There were a couple actually producing a good chance of scoring.

Only 3% of goals are scored by corners.

Talksport did a piece on corners last January -- at that point in th 14-15 EPL season:

#1 was Chelsea -- eight goals scored from corners (17 corners per goal) so far in that season.
#2 was mighty WBA -- six goals per corner.

I'm guessing by itself it doesn't say much about a team.

WBA stat ??

Guess it's mostly down to good defensive organisation. Seems rare now too to leave anyone forward, so attacking team always outnumbered.
