Considering the Syrian civil war is some four and a half years old, and the US has always wanted to grease the skids under the Assad regime, does anybody think there hasn't been at least 50 SF operatives in Syria more or less continuously since the spring of 2011?

Frankly, if doing that wiped out ISIS completely - the whole frickin' lot of them dead - I'd be up for a couple of choruses of 'Keep the Red Flag Flying Here!'Will be very interesting to see if Putin will put troops on the ground.
What do you mean again?

Answer this truthfully.
Do you genuinely believe that the very first public announcement of Western troops on the ground fighting ISIS is not news?
Regardless to whether the SAS/KGB/RMC's have been undertaking covert rescue missions behind enemy lines in the desert. There are now Western troops on the front line fighting ISIS, paving the way for other Western governments to follow suit in due course.
So are the EU going to impose sanctions on the U.S. ? Going into a country with troops without permission ? Or are there different rules for the west ?
