Albion manager Chris Hughton has praised his opposite number Steve Clarke for stabilising Reading.
Hughton takes his unbeaten Championship leaders to Berkshire tomorrow to face the Royals, who are seven points adrift in seventh under ex-Chelsea defender and West Brom boss Clarke.
Hughton said: "He's someone I know well. He’s also somebody who's had a similar path into management as a coach so we've got a fair bit in common.
"I think he did a very good job at West Brom. Once he left there it was only a matter of time before he got another job.
"He's moulded a very good squad (at Reading). I think his remit when he went in there was to get that bit of stability in the club, to mould the team the way that he wants, and he's done a very good job of that."
