Just in from the cinema, I thoroughly enjoyed it and if I had to sum it up in five words it would be "The Greatest Hits Of Bond."

I didn't like, not a patch on Skyfall. It was actually a bit boring dare I say. Sorry, love Bond normally but this felt like filler for the next refresh.

I'm going on Wednesday.

I think Daniel Craig's debut in Casino Royale just set the bar so high its been tough for any of them to live up to it tbh. That remains the most sensational Bond film I have ever seen, it was truly superb. But I'm really looking forward to Spectre.

Not a Bond fan, maybe I just don't get it.
Script, villain threatens world peace/world something, Bond sorts out and shags birds whilst sorting it, world saved, end.
Next script, as above.

Yep - I'm no Bond fanatic but Casino Royale was a just a great movie and easily the best Bond film since From Russia With Love for me. The subsequent films have paled in comparison and I thought Skyfall was dreadful. Maybe Spectre will pull things around but it's a big ask.

Not just me then.
And hasn't Casino Royale just got the COOLEST opening titles too ? Proper decent Bond theme too.

Going on Friday. It would be between Skyfall and Casino Royale for me. Liked the Connery ones, never got Roger Moore.

I certainly subscribe to the theory that the Bourne series made Bond people get their shit together for Casino Royale.

It is unlikely to be as good as MI Rouge Nation

I'm a bit of both of these. I rather liked Spectre, but I thought Skyfall was better.

I thought the opening credits to spectre were pretty cool with their throwback to the previous three films, but do prefer the CR song.

In terms of comparing recent Bond films then saying this one isn't as good as Casino Royale is a bit like saying Rubber Soul is not quite as good as Revolver, or Dom Perignon is not quite as good as Tattinger.

I'm a big Bond fan, to me pretty much all the movies are on another level to the rest.

Interesting and certainly its not as fast paced as Casino Royale or Quantum granted.

But then I don't think its supposed to be. Its a greatest hits as Pavillionaire said and primarily of FRWL, Goldfinger and definitely OHMSS. So its in essence a 60s Bond film made for 2015. Not surprising when SPECTRE were the main bad boys in the 60s.

It did have the feel of a "part 1" and this I think is deliberate because Craig is 47 now and will probably be pushing 50 for his last outing so it wont get to Roger Moore in his late 50s like in View to A Kill. The main villain is still alive, Bond leaves with his lady friend so its all set up to nick the last 10 of OHMSS and make the next outing a revenge movie like the fist 10 of Diamonds and better than Quantum.

Craig is def no 2 behind Connery and ahead of Dalton.
