I'm sticking to counting down the 22 wins which should guarantee it.

I'm looking at the two wins needed to equal last year's haul.

Winning fewer than half of our remaining games does make it seem very achievable, even at this early stage.

13 games undefeated in the League would exceed the sequence in 2011-12 when we only finished 10th.

http://www.statto.com/football/teams/brighton-and-hove-albion/2011-2012/results

And the season before that when we went 12 League games undefeated twice.

2011/12
Final 34 games: W12 D11 PTS 47
2012/13
Final 34 games: W14 D15 PTS 57
2013/14
Final 34 games: W16 D9 PTS 57

So if we play the rest of this season in similar fashion to either 12/13 or 13/14, we will finish on 85 pts which is typically enough for at least 3rd...

We pretty much managed the points we might require in 2 of the last 4 seasons.
A repeat of those results would put us on 85 points right? I'd bet that's not enough, but of course we could do it. We were very good in Poyet's last season, I don't know how Oscar managed it.

80 would have been enough in the season we came 4th. Long way to go but seeing points stats of previous seasons should be reason to be confident that we can at least match those runs....if not better them of course. Does feel we have a bit of je ne sais quoi about us this season.

I'm going to stick my neck out and say that that will be enough for 2nd this year. The latest couple of rounds of results show that there are no real whipping boys in the league this year.
