I can confirm it was a fire at care home in Dyke Road, caused by the roofers using a gas burner for for a flat roof. Caused bloody chaos getting all the residents out as they never done a fire evacuation before. Damage was small and all residents were fine, but the funny thing was the old boy sat in a chair reading the argus in the driveway as if it was a normal day thing.

............probably been through the war and was genuinely not remotely bothered. I bloody love the stoicism of the elderly, saw loads of it through my grandparents (one still going strong at 94)
