...and I am by no means confident, after Tuesday's agony...

We would have 31 points after 13 games.

Previous Championship stats at the same point in the season:

14-15 Derby 26 Finished 8th Aaaargh
13-14 Burnley 32 2nd
12-13 Cardiff 28 Champs
11-12 So'ton 27 2nd
10-11 QPR 29 Champs
9-10 WBA 24 2nd
8-9 B'ham 30 2nd
7-8 Watford 32 6th Aaaargh
6-7 Cardiff 29 13th Aaaargh
5-6 Sheffield U 33 2nd
4-5 Wigan 27 2nd

So you tend not to get top spot from where we are, apparently. Anyway, Preston will stuff us Saturday, just like I predicted Bristol City would stuff us last Tuesday...

I'd be more than happy with the odd goal win on Saturday ..but it would be nice if it could be by 2 or 3...i'd like to be a tad relaxed for the last five minutes...just for a change

Ended up on 64 points. So 35 points from their next 33 games (Relegation zone form). Quite a collapse.

If you offered me 6th now I would take it.

If we can maintain our good form until January then we will find it easier to strengthen the team.

Yep,was 95-96 season, got relegated on last day of the season.

1 game at a time.Even more important in the greatest league in the world (the championship)
Your first target has to be 45-50 points to avoid relegation.The earlier you reach that target the better chance you have of making the next target(play offs)& so on.

I'm sure every team has a monthly breakdown of expectations based around upcoming fixtures.

I recall that Blackpool did something similar in 1977/8 top 3 at Christmas and then won only 1 of the last 22 games to finish in the bottom 3, or something like that.
