Alhaurin de la Torre
'Have Gun, Will Travel', starring Richard Boone as Paladin. For a pre teen in the late 50's this was required Sunday evening viewing. I think it the first of ITV's cowboy series and was shown before 'Sunday Night at the London Palladium'.

When I saw the thread title, Paladin was my first thought and after opening the thread, I am glad I am not alone with that thought.

Oh yes Alan Ladd in Shane. Magnificent.

But in answer to the question it has to be the Lone Ranger who I watched avidly as a young boy. Loved the white horse and his outfit and that he was such a good guy.

For me there can only be one winner. Struck me as utterly bizarre even in 1979, and has to be said it doesn't exactly get any less bizarre - not to mention outrageously politically incorrect - when unwittingly re-broadcast on TOTP2 in the following millennium...

Check out THIS video:

Sample subversive lyrics:

'Kimosabi friend and brother
He smoke pipe of peace with Tonto
Put his mask on back to fronto
Tonto fall about with laughter
He a head our great white brother
Even pass a toke to Silver
Mask man very untogether'

or how about this:

'Tonto know that Kimosabi
Never ever have a woman
Tonto sometime stop and wonder
What the trip with great white brother
Maybe masked man he a poofter
Try it on with surly Tonto'
