Yes - this forth / fourth confusion does seem to be at the heart of the issue. Clearly Jesus meant 'come forward'. It wasn't a competition, and there were no prizes on offer, except for 'eternal life', fwiw.

Even if there HAD been prizes on offer, a toaster would have been of little use, many years prior to the discovery of electricity.

None of this adds up, to be honest.

To be honest, I'm not sure JC has that within his remit. Warren Aspinall, maybe.

To be fair to the OP, having re-read his post he makes no reference to the fact that it was an electric toaster. We can presume then that it was some sort of hot coal or charcoal toasting kit.
