The "Happy Shopper" brand dark chocolate wants a lot of beating imho - 60p a bar, was 50p until recently. Reminiscent of the stuff I eat in unhealthy quantities when holidaying in France and available from the "U" chain.
Lindt 90% cocoa dark chocolate is my personal favourite.
On the flip-side of it, Hershey's is by far the shittest chocolate available. Makes advent calendar chocolate seem luxury.

You are right about Hershey's. American 'chocolate' tastes so different to chocolate produced here. There is talk of Kraft, who now own Cadbury, changing their recipe, so any time now your regular bar of fruit and nut could taste totally different.
