World Cup Qualifying 2018 - South American Edition

Chile 2 Brazil 0 is perhaps not that great a surprise (although it is the first time EVER that Brazil have lost their first game in WC qualifying) but Argentina 0 Ecuador 2 is a major shocker.

Argentina looked rubbish and the Oles ringing around Buenos Aires were from the Ecuadorean fans. Wouldn't surprise me at all if the Argies don't win in Paraguay next Wednesday either.

Also looks like Citeh will be without Aguero for a while after going off in the first half with what looked like a hamstring problem.

Uruguay got an excellent 2-0 win in Bolivia.

Brazil have traditionally failed to pull up trees during WC qualifying, which is hardly surprising seeing as half the federation qualifies. Chile of course have turned into a quality outfit in recent seasons - very much the South American equivalent of Belgium.

I would be amazed if all of Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Uruguay failed to qualify. Ecuador and Paraguay might have something to say about that, but at which country's expense?

Great thread.

Augero out will not be good for City, Only Bony to come in who simply hasn't cut it so far. Will be a bigger dent in thier champions league hopes than it will the Prem though.
