Let's hope Luke leads from the front and his batting is not affected.
Really happy with this appointment
Early in his career I definitely underrated. When he started as first-change in limited overs ahead of RMJ I thought it was wrong. When selected for England I couldn't believe it - but on occasion he did really well - certainly deserved to be selected. I would say that Luke is Sussex's all-time best one-day batsman but he also applies himself to the longer form of the game - he has shown his commitment to Sussex on many occasions. He is an excellent chap who will give his all. There will be wise heads around to help him as well. He'll be fine - we should be contenders again next season (in the championship div 2 at least) - so it will be easier to be positive.
