Their biggest quality is good players and experience, which makes them a big threat"
Chris Hughton
Brighton & Hove Albion boss Chris Hughton has warned his side they face a number of individual threats across the pitch against Cardiff City this weekend.
The Seagulls boss has also paid tribute to the job being done by his opposite number and former Albion manager Russell Slade, ahead of the meeting of the two clubs this Saturday.
Hughton said, "Russell has done a great job, and you can't underestimate how difficult it is when you have a team that has come out of the Premier League and have to make the amount of changes that they have.
"They have a wonderful mix in their game, they have really good footballers, and they have games where they can dominate in midfield because of the players they have.
"They also have a threat upfront in Kenwyne Jones and when you see the type of goals that he has scored, you know what he is capable of.

"They have a very varied way of playing and can change the way that they play, but their biggest quality is good players and experience, which makes them a big threat.
"It will be very difficult; they are a good side, similar to ourselves, a good blend of experience and knowhow in the team.
"If you’re picking out individual players, Peter Whittingham is the best deliverer of the ball in the division. The fact he has great knowhow as well puts him as an important player and I can’t speak more highly of him.

"Jones and Whittingham are two strengths for them, but they also have really good players around them. Someone who I know very well is Anthony Pilkington who I had at Norwich. It seems that after a period of injuries, he is back to his best.
"Also Joe Mason, off the front, is a threat; they're a very hard working team and the way they are playing at the moment is proving successful. So as with a lot of games this season we know we're playing against a real quality team."

Meanwhile Hughton says he is proud of the start his side has made to the new season. It is the first time in the club's history that an Albion side has remained unbeaten in the first nine league matches, and they're currently the only unbeaten side in England."We can be very proud of it; it's certainly something most people didn't expect. We were confident that we could start well, but to have that type of run against the quality of teams in this division speaks volumes for the players.
"With the start comes the pressure of trying to maintain it as best as we can; we need to be able to go through tough periods, bounce back and make sure we get enough good results to stay in a good position in the league. We are very proud of the run but we know there are some tough days ahead."
