How on earth do Americans 'cope' in Europe and other countries where carrying guns is illegal? The US must be a dangerous place if their society is in such fear that they need to arm themselves.

I once watch a documentary about Americas mental health system.

It's so under funded and tiny that most with mental health issues are either put in prison or left to roam the streets.

Mix this with easy access to guns and its lethal.

This seems to be an important factor and if memory serves me correctly the shooters involved in massacres have been missed by the system.
