Brighton & Hove Albion's appeal against Jamie Murphy's red card in the match against Bolton Wanderers last weekend has been rejected by the Football Association's regulatory commission.
The Seagulls submitted a claim for wrongful dismissal, but an independent panel which will have included a former player, manager and referee, rejected the appeal.

The panel reviewed footage of the incident with Bolton's Neil Danns, the club's submission and the referee's report, and opted to uphold the original decision by referee Mark Haywood.The former Motherwell and Sheffield United winger will now be suspended for matches against Cardiff City, Leeds United and Bristol City.
