Albion boss Chris Hughton is thrilled by the points tally which has bookies running scared of his Championship pacesetters.
The unbeaten Seagulls go to mid-table Wolves today on 19 points after seven games, their best league start for 58 years.
They reached the same total with a 1-1 draw at Wolves last season in Sami Hyypia’s final match in charge – five days before Christmas.
Albion, as high as 33-1 with some bookmakers at the start of the season, are now as low as 6-1 second favourites to achieve the Premier League dream after the astonishing turnaround.
Hughton said: “At this moment we’re just incredibly delighted to be where we are.
“The massive thing about being where we are and the run that we’re on is that we have accumulated points.

“To be on our points tally at this stage of the season is brilliant.”Middlesbrough are hot favourites to take the title, despite Albion’s early supremacy.
The Seagulls have been clipped into 2-1 to be promoted and are odds-on to finish in the top six but Hughton has warned of trouble ahead.
He said: “Every team in this division will have a dip at some stage where things are not going so well and you hope you are good enough and resilient to rise through it.
“I’m not thinking any more than the next game and then the next game after that. If we can maintain the form we are in then brilliant, if we can’t we still need to make sure we can find a way of winning games.”
Albion’s start of six wins and a draw is their best in the league since the division three south champions of 1957-58 began in identical fashion before losing four in a row.
