Albion today staged a stunning tribute to those who died in the Shoreham Airshow tragedy – including two of their own.
Although all 11 victims were honoured, the onus fell on former Albion groundsman Matt Grimstone and his ex-Worthing United colleague Jacob Schildt.
And, amid highly emotional scenes before the game against Hull City, Albion did the boys proud.
Announcer Richard Reynolds, wearing a special Worthing United scarf bearing the names Matt and Jacob, introduced a video detailing events of the last three weeks.
Soprano Donna-Marie Hughes sang Abide With Me and, later, Sussex By The Sea.

Representatives of the emergency services were at pitchside and received rousing applause from fans, who had been in their places from 2.30pm.Supporters clubs from Albion and Hull laid wreaths and huge replicas of the boys’ Worthing United shirts were displayed.
The shirts had been signed by fans before the game and were laid out across empty seats in the South Stand after the match started.
The teams came out to a magnificent backdrop as fans in the East Lower held aloft blue and white placards to spell out the word TOGETHER.
Then managers Chris Hughton and Steve Bruce laid flowers as fans shared in a thunderous minute’s applause.
