Kirsty Barton
Midfielder
Off the field, Barton works in a primary school teaching PE and is starting university this September to become a qualified teacher. She has played for Brighton and Hove Albion for four seasons after joining from Chelsea Ladies -where she had been for seven years prior to joining the Seagulls. She has won the Players’ Player of the Year Award IN the past two seasons at Albion.

Jay Blackie
Midfielder
27-year-old Blackie spent three years with Gillingham Ladies and captained them to their most successful campaign in their history during the 2013/14 season. She also skippered the Kent Representative Team to the Southern Championship tittle two seasons on the bounce (2012/13 and 2013/14). Blackie is the highest-capped Kent senior player and was awarded the 2012/13 Kent and Gillingham Player of the Year Award. The midfielder left the Gills for Albion in 2014 and away from the pitch, she is an assistant year team leader at Blatchington Mill Secondary school. Blackie also holds the UEFA B coaching qualification and is head coach of the BHAWFC under-15s girls’ centre of excellence team.

Amy Green
Midfielder
Currently working her way back to full fitness after tearing her anterior cruciate knee ligament last year, Green has risen through the ranks at Albion, having spent two years playing for the club’s centre of excellence. Away from football, Green works for a health insurance company. *

Lucy Somes
Winger
Somes is currently attending* the University of Brighton and studies sports coaching. During her career, Somes started with the Seagulls in the under-8s and stayed with the club until the under-12 age group. The winger then made the decision to play grassroots football instead, but returned to the club when she was 17, winning the Young Player of the Year in her first season back at the club. Somes was Albion’s top scorer in 2014/15.

Charlotte Young
Midfielder
Young returned to Albion this season following some time away from the game. The former England under-23 player has represented the Seagulls for two seasons and previously played in the Premier League Southern Division for Reading and for Fulham in the former Women's Premier League National Division. Young is a PE teacher at Dorothy Stringer High School in Brighton, while also coaching the Sussex under-14 Representative Boys side this year.

Charley Boswell
Winger/Wing back
Boswell joined Albion’s centre of excellence at 14 and has remained within the club ever since, working her way up to the first team at the age of 16. Boswell has enjoyed success winning the Sussex Challenge Cup several times, and has featured for the Sussex representative side on many occasions. Alongside playing, Boswell has achieved a degree in Physical Education and Teaching, and has previously worked in a children's home, but now currently works as the administrator for Albion women.

Charlotte Gurr
Midfielder
Gurr has represented Arsenal, Gillingham and Millwall during her career and is currently in her second spell at Albion. However, her proudest footballing moment came in the season of 2013/14 when she was playing at Gillingham and she won the FA WPL Southern Division Top Goal Scorer Award. Off the field, Gurr coaches the under-11 Brighton centre of excellence team.

Charlotte Owen
Midfielder
Another player that has made her way through the ranks at Albion, Owen was part of the centre of excellence before rising into the first team. Fans may have seen Owen scoring a sublime flick against Gillingham on the club’s official YouTube Channel last year. However, Owen has been unfortunate in sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury, but is working hard to get back to fitness following her operation. The midfielder currently works for the club in the Amex Superstore.

Megan Fox
Midfielder
Fox has enjoyed success by winning the Hampshire Under-16s’ Regional and National cups and was also part of the team that won the Hampshire Under-18s’ National Cup. Fox has represented the North East Hampshire Representative team as well as the Mid Solent Southern County Representative team, and has also twice been the champion of the British Colleges National Cup. Off the field, Fox works at Waitrose.
