Brighton & Hove Albion’s Beram Kayal and Tomer Hemed both played 45 minutes for Israel as they prevented Wales from sealing qualification for Euro 2016 with a 0-0 draw in Cardiff.
*
Midfielder Kayal was replaced by Tal Ben Haim at half time, while Hemed came on for Moanes Dabour after the break, as Israel delayed Chris Coleman’s side from ending a 58-year wait to appear at a major tournament.
*
Wales remain on course to end their long-awaited return to a major tournament, still sitting top of Group B with two games remaining, five points ahead of Eli Guttman’s Israel who are in third place on 13 points from eight games.
*
Hemed and Kayal still have a chance of extending their season into the summer with their national side, although it is looking increasingly likely they may have to find their way to the finals via the play-offs..
