Albion in the Community (AITC) welcomed representatives from more than 25 other clubs and sporting organisations to the American Express Community Stadium last week to officially launch the charity’s new FA Disability Regional Talent Centres.
AITC has been awarded FA licences to deliver two regional talent development programmes – one for partially sighted and deaf players and the other for blind footballers – and the launch event gave AITC staff the chance to tell other clubs from across the south about the opportunities now available to disabled players.
More information on the talent centres can be found online HERE.
The charity has a strong track record in the field of disability sport and AITC staff have been helping fledgling wheelchair rugby club Brighton Buccaneers recruit new players. And when the Rugby World Cup trophy visited the Amex, representatives from the Buccaneers and Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby were on hand to offer people the chance to try the sport after having their picture taken with the Webb Ellis Cup.
