As it stands means Iceland are pretty much through. Czech Republic hold 2nd spot and have to play both Netherlands and Turkey in the last 2 games. Turkey will have the advantage in the race for 3rd but their other game is against Iceland so they've got 2 tough games left (although Iceland could be unmotivated having already qualified) and any slip up by Czech Republic could see them miss out on the 3rd place. Netherlands will have to play Kazakhstan in their other game so it isn't over for them yet.

Dutch currently on 66% possession according to BBC website. Only managed 2 shots on target though.

It will be a travesty if the Dutch finish third and sneak in via the play-offs. They've had a horrible campaign and the players coming through look a pale shadow of their predecessors.

However, it's not just them. Germany apart, I'd say almost all of the big Euro nations look weaker than they did 10 years ago. It's a worry.

Everyone here is fuming. Blaming the management mainly, but they're also bemoaning the lack of quality in the Eredivisie. Even the Dutch people can't ridicule me for England being bad at the moment!

Or is it that the other nations have grown stronger? Wales, Iceland, Austria, Slovakia, N Ireland and Albania all look like qualifying (and most of these would qualify if it were a 16-team tournament). That's some transformation

A pity as the Dutch will be missed in France.

Yes. Who's now going to kick the sh1t out of the opposition during the 1H, knowing damn well that the referee doesn't want to send anyone off?

Well Wales are a one-man team, thus was proved by their inability to beat Israel and reliance on Bale to beat Cyprus. Go back to 2004, go thru the France team, England, Portugal, Dutch, Italy, Czech - all class sides.
