Brighton & Hove Albion women’s midfielder Kirsty Barton is eager to create more happy memories at Culver Road when the team hosts Queens Park Rangers on Sunday, kick-off 2pm.The 23-year-old has played in several Sussex Challenge Cup finals at the stadium and scored a goal in a 2-0 win over Lewes in the 2013 showpiece match.
Albion also enjoyed a successful home record at the Sussex County FA Headquarters in the last campaign, losing just once there all season and Barton is hoping for a big crowd to welcome the team back.
She told seagulls.co.uk, “I am looking forward to it, but I’ve really enjoyed playing at the training ground as well.
“It’s nice there, but it will be good to get back to Culver Road and get some more supporters to come along and cheer us on.
“I’ve played in a few County Cup finals and had some memorable evenings at Culver Road when we won the trophy.
“Last season we played very well there and hopefully we can continue that form going into this season.”

Barton reflected on a positive start to the campaign, after the side picked up a respectable four points from their opening two games, which included a hard-fought 0-0 draw at Charlton Athletic.“We’ve got three points from our first game against Forest Green, which is always important because there are a lot of nerves flying around the camp to get your first win under your belt.
“To face Charlton away in the second game of the season was always going to be tough and to come away from there with a point is obviously not what we wanted, but it’s still a good result.”
The midfielder assessed the threat which Queens Park Rangers will pose on Sunday and is expecting anything but an easy game against the West Londoners.
“It’s going to be a tough game and we don’t look at any team and expect anything less.
“We approach every game with the same mind-set, which is absolutely vital in this league.
“We’re going to work hard like we normally do and hope that it’s enough to get the three points.”
Entry on the gate for Sunday’s game is priced at £3 for adults and £1 for under-16s and OAPs.
