Great to be top of the league but historically the charge for auto promo places really starts post the break.
The auto promoted teams have the following points/games records in those two months for last four seasons:
14/15
Bournemouth 17 points from 9 games
Watford 14 from 9
13/14
Leicester 19 from 8
Burnley 22 from 8
12/13
Cardiff 24 from 9
Hull 18 from 9
11/12
Reading 12 from 9
Soton 18 from 9
Average is 2.06 points per game, more than the average for the season as a whole for auto promoted teams. Only Reading and Watford (who had a good August) in last 4 seasons have managed auto promo without being at least very close to 2 points per game in Sept/Oct.
Our record in October is dismal beyond belief - has to change if we are to be serious contenders.
