"Worthing United’s first game following the tragic death of two of their players is expected to be a sell-out after the match day was switched to allow the football community to pay their respects.

The Mavericks will play their first game since the tragic deaths of players Matt Grimstone and Jacob Schilt in the Shoreham Airshow disaster when they play East Preston in the FA Vase next Sunday at 5pm.

The fixture, which has been dubbed the biggest in the club’s history, has been moved back a day to allow the Sussex football family to attend and pay their respects to both men.

The match has been made all-ticket as the club is expecting a large, potential sell-out crowd, at their Lyons Way ground.

East Preston and the FA have been very kind in allowing us to change the kick-off to the Sunday, and we would like to place on record our thanks to them, and also to East Preston who've waived their share of the gate receipts.

All proceeds from ticket sales will be used to fund a permanent tribute in honour of Matt and Jacob.

With demand set to be high, Brighton and Hove Albion's safety and stewarding team have lent their expertise in staging the match while the club will sell tickets for the game through their seagulls website.

Just under 1000 tickets will go on sale from tonight at 7pm via seagullstickets.com.

Tickets are priced £6 for adults and £3 for concessions. "

First of all well done to our BHA safety team for helping Worthing out, top class and also East Preston

The main point of the thread is to spread the word around and try get Worthing's game to a sell-out and at the price the tickets are at I can't see why not

As for the atmosphere before/during the game it will be hard to bear and I'm sure some people will be shedding a tear, so well done for anyone who can make it

This is bound to sell out. Wonder what the chances are of Worhting FC hosting it? Guess the families and friends would rather play it at the normal place though.

In a pile of football shirts
Number 7 buses go from the station to Lyons Farm

Or it's about a half an hours walk from the station.
