Brighton & Hove Albion’s planned minute's silence at Walsall in memory of Matthew Grimstone and Jacob Schilt - and all those who tragically lost their lives in the Shoreham air crash - will be extended to all Capital One Cup second round ties.

The Football League announced today that the minute’s silence will be observed ahead of all Capital One Cup second round ties taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday to remember those who passed away, including the Albion member of staff and his Worthing United teammate.

Matthew was an Albion employee for the past seven years, while fellow Seagulls fan Jacob featured in the most recent Robert Eaton Memorial Fund charity match against Crystal Palace in April.

The Football League's chief executive Shaun Harvey said, "This minute's silence will give football fans across the country the opportunity to pay their respects to Matthew, Jacob and all those who lost their lives in this terrible accident.

"On behalf of The Football League. our condolences go to everybody at Brighton & Hove Albion, Worthing United and to all those outside of the football family who have been rocked by Saturday's shocking events."Albion and Walsall players will also wear black armbands at Tuesday night's game.
