  • A minute's slience is observed prior to kick-off following the Shoreham air crash

  • Substitute Kim Stenning tests Megen Lynch with two strikes
  • Albion keep two clean sheets in as many games
Brighton & Hove Albion women have secured four points from their opening two games in the Premier League Southern Division, following a goalless draw with Charlton Athletic at Sporting Club Thamesmead.
*
A minute's silence was impeccably observed prior to kick-off to remember those who tragically died in the Shoreham air crash on Saturday.
*
The game between these early-season title favourites started as a rather cagey affair, with efforts from Kim Dixson and Sophie Perry the only opportunities of note in the opening 20 minutes.
*
But Albion soon grew into the game, as Lucy Somes saw her rasping drive cannon off the crossbar, before Charlotte Gurr's free-kick forced a fine save from Addicks keeper Megen Lynch.
*
Charlton had the first chance of the second half when Charley Clifford's free-kick was headed wide at the far post by Kit Graham.
*
Kate Natkiel was next to break forward on goal for Albion, but her touch was too heavy and Lynch gathered the ball.
*
The hosts had their best chance to take the lead when Dixson's free-kick beat Faye Baker in the Albion goal but fortunately it cannoned off the crossbar.

James Marrs brought on substitute Kim Stenning in a bid to bolster Albion's attack and she almost had an immediate impact after Lynch was called into action to tip her shot round the post.
*
Stenning tested the Addicks shot-stopper again with a superb curling effort, while Gemma Shepherd had a chance for the hosts with a close-range strike.
*
Albion again came close when Perry found Somes, but the latter diverted her cross over after being unmarked.
*
Despite a number of clear-cut chances for both sides, the points were shared with Albion's defence yet to be breached this season.ALBION: Baker; C Cooper, D Cooper, Ashton-Jones; Perry, Blackie, Barton, Somes (Young 70), Natkiel; Taylor (Stenning 60), Gurr.
