Brighton & Hove Albion's women's team will be looking to follow-up on their 4-0 opening day hammering of Forest Green Rovers last weekend, when they face Charlton Athletic, the team which finished one place behind James Marrs's side in third place in the Women's Premier League Southern Division last season.

Marrs has likened the clash to that of Manchester City and Chelsea in the Premier League last Sunday, saying, "It's quite a big one early in the season. I'd call it a six-pointer. I know it it's hard to say that in only the second week but we are both teams who could be up there. We lost there in the league last season and they beat us in the cup quarter-finals as well, which we were not happy about - and they have strengthened, so it promises be a good game for the neutral!"
Jay Blackie, Deanna Cooper, Lucy Somes and Kirsty Barton were on target in the win, and Marrs was delighted that the girls' hard work in pre-season paid off, adding, "You never quite know what will happen on the opening day. Our fitness levels were very good. The players have been working hard all summer."
Squad: Faye Baker (GK), Molly Towers (GK), Deanna Cooper, Vicky Ashton-Jones, Catherine Cooper, Danielle Rowe, Sophie Perry, Charlotte Markham, Annie Rolf, Charlotte Young, Kirsty Barton, Jay Blackie (Captain), Kate Natkiel, Charlotte Gurr, Lucy Somes, Amy Taylor, Kim Stenning, Paige Baker-Carroll.
GOALSCORERS BLACKIE AND Cooper will be at the Blackburn Rovers match at the Amex this Saturday afternoon, passing on tips and coaching advice to young aspiring players. The pair will be in and around the family area in the East Stand, ahead of the game from approximately 1.30pm.

ALBION WOMEN KICKED off the season against Forest Green at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre, but moving forward will play home fixtures at the Sussex County Football Association's Culver Road HQ, following the installation of a brand-new 3G pitch. The first home league fixture is against QPR on Sunday 6th September - and with the men's team not in action that weekend, the club are encouraging fans to descend on Culver Road and get behind Marrs's team as they seek to go one better this season, and win promotion to the WSL.
