I'm going up by train and staying at the Travelodge which is between the station and the John Smiths Stadium. I'll be drinking and having a bite to eat in the Head of Steam pub on the railway station premises

The Grove would out-beer pretty much anyone, absolutely superb. The rat and ratchet is nice too. The Discovery Bay restaurant for cracking Caribbean grub, it was on The F Word some years back, and last season we managed to get in there pre match, it was brilliant.

Oh and try the Hand Drawn Monkey brewery tap pub, rather special too.

The Head of Steam at the station is a good pub for food and drink.
