Not Luton! Thank God
Has struck me that there is considerable equivalence between the recent Labour leadership and the Tory leadership 20 years ago

Thatcher = Blair - Loved and hated in equal measure, but generally popular with the electorate

Major = Brown - A hard act to follow. A bit of success but doomed to failure (difference being that Major won in 92)

Hague = Milliband - Clever, but ineffectual.

IDS = Corbyn??? - Great for the grass roots, but not for the rest of the country

If that runs true then who will be Labour's Michael Howard (stabiliser) and David Cameron (winner - please no-one say he wasn't a winner because he onloy got x% )

I see Corbyn as the Thatcher of 40 years ago. She was not seen as a front runner (until she was). Her policies were deemed too extreme (elections are won from the centre, was the saying then). She'll be absolutely hated by large section of the electorate.

Yep, there are strong parallels there
